Premium Dryer Roof Jack Replacement and Dryer Vent Cleaning Fairhope, Alabama

The original roof jack at this property in Fairhope, Alabama was not code compliant, as it had only a 3.5-inch diameter termination opening and did not properly accommodate the required 4-inch dryer duct connection. This caused airflow restriction and excessive back pressure within the system. Per IRC M1502.3 (Duct Termination) and IRC M1502.4.1 (Material and Size), dryer exhaust ducts must be 4 inches nominal in diameter and terminate outside the building with an approved exhaust hood providing a minimum of 12 square inches of net free area for proper lint discharge.

Services performed included a dryer roof jack replacement, removal of the existing non-compliant termination, and installation of a code-compliant DryerJack meeting the 12 square inch opening requirement. Inside the attic, we installed a Dryer-Ell at the elbow connection to improve airflow efficiency, reduce turbulence at the bend, and increase overall CFM performance through the system. A complete dryer vent cleaning was also conducted to remove accumulated lint and debris from the entire vent run.

The system in Fairhope is now fully optimized with reduced back pressure, improved airflow volume, increased dryer efficiency, and significantly reduced fire hazards. Lint can now discharge freely and safely through a properly sized and code-compliant termination.
