Fairhope Alabama Dryer Vent Cleaning and Code-Compliant Roof Jack Installation

This project in Fairhope, Alabama required a full dryer roof jack replacement and complete dryer vent cleaning due to a non-code-compliant roof termination installed by the original builder. The existing roof jack had a screen covering the termination point, and the interior of the cap was severely pinched down, restricting airflow. As a result, lint became trapped inside the roof jack, creating a significant blockage.

The homeowner reported that the dryer was not operating properly and was producing error codes — clear signs of excessive back pressure and restricted airflow within the vent system.

We removed the improper roof termination and replaced it with a code-compliant DryerJack roof vent designed specifically for dryer exhaust systems. In addition, we performed a complete system cleanout to remove all accumulated lint and debris. To further improve performance, we installed a Dryer-Ell fitting at the 90-degree transition point to increase airflow volume and reduce resistance without adding equivalent duct length.

Once completed, the system was fully optimized, venting efficiently and allowing the dryer to breathe properly. The improvement in airflow eliminated the restriction issues and restored proper dryer operation.
