Dryer Vent Cleaning Fairhope, AL
A customer scheduled a standard dryer vent cleaning with us after experiencing poor dryer performance. During our inspection, we found some lint buildup in the system; however, the root cause was not excessive lint accumulation alone.
The issue was a non–code-compliant dryer vent cover with a screen installed at the termination point. The screen was trapping lint and restricting airflow, which caused a clog and prevented the dryer from exhausting properly.
We recommended replacing the existing vent cover with an InOvate Dryer Wall Vent, which is designed specifically for dryer exhaust systems and meets current code requirements. After installing the new wall vent, airflow was fully restored and the system began operating flawlessly.
The InOvate Dryer Wall Vent features a wide-open mouth at the termination point, allowing lint to exit freely, along with a damper flap that opens during dryer operation and closes when not in use. This design prevents lint buildup, improves dryer efficiency, and significantly reduces fire risk.
Once the issue was corrected, the customer’s dryer returned to normal operation, drying efficiently and safely as intended.
